From September 22, 1948, to May 13, 1949, Colonel Gail Halvorsen participated in what is known as Operation "Little Vittles", helping drop over 23 tons of sweets over West Berlin during the Berlin Airlift.
In honor of of Col. Halvorsen and the folks who made the operation a success, we give you our small tribute. Be sure to say, "Thank you, Uncle Wiggly Wings!"
